MOUNTAIN GOAT GUIDED HUNTS

The Rocky Mountain Goat located in Oregon are one of the rarest and most unique animals that
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has to offer. The Rocky Mountain Goats were
extirpated from the State of Oregon in the 1800’s. The current populations of Mountain Goats
that Oregon has to offer today are from a direct action and result of a successful reintroduction
process.

Oregon currently has 13 open areas for Mountain Goat hunting opportunities. Among these 13
areas Eden Ridge Outfitters, LLC will prioritize on what they feel is the best opportunity.
Mountain Goats live in some of the roughest nastiest country you could possibly ever
encounter. Remember that Mountain Goats are one if not the single handedly hardest animal
to judge in the terms of field judging. The true trophy of the Mountain Goat is the late season
hair that they carry going into the winter months.

Oregon has produced several qualifying B&C record book Billy's since the first established
season since the reintroduction of the Mountain Goat. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is very cautious and only limits a very limited amount of tags for Mountain Goat. With that being said this allows The State of Oregon to continuously produce and maintain a trophy type quality Mountain Goat. Eden Ridge Outfitters, LLC is going to give you a little insight on a few of the units and suggest to apply for.

The Elkhorn No.1, No.2, and No.3 Mountain Goat Units (950A1, (950A2), and (950A3) have the
most tags and have some of the highest density of Mountain Goat numbers. Every year there
are B&C Mountain Goats harvested from here. There is 1 non-resident tag allocated in the
Oregon Big Game Draw hunt (950A2). There is a trail that leads from one side of the unit to the
other.

South Snake River No.1 and No.2 Mountain Goat Units (959B1) and (959B2) these two units
have produced several B&C Mountain Goats since they opened. The State Record was from
here until it was recently broken in the last couple of years. Be in the best shape of your life and
ready to work hard. This hunt will test you physically and mentally. This unit is not for the weak
of hearted. Hire an Outfitter for the best results.

Central Cascade Mountain Goat (916A) this unit is brand new and has never been hunted. This
could produce a “Giant” Mountain Goat. I would suggest hiring an Outfitter for the best results.

South Wallowa Mountain Goat (953A) this unit produces some great Mountain Goats. I would
suggest on hiring an Outfitter as the use of horses is going to make this hunt way easier.

East Hurricane Creek and West Hurricane Creek Mountain Goat Units (960A1) and (960A2) our
outstanding units for Mountain Goat. The State Record was harvested here a couple of years
ago. This area is some of the most prestigious and beautiful country the Oregon has to offer.
Hire a licensed and permitted Outfitter to hunt here as packing in on horses is going to make
this hunt way easier.
